"I Am Here!" - The Clarion

Making things "loud and clear" purports the essence of what a clarion is. This is what the school named its school paper, The Clarion as  the official school paper of Balabag Elementary School. It came out in her maiden issue recently covering the period of June and July school activities.

Mr. Mike Pabalate, Grade VI - Dahlia class adviser was assigned as the school paper adviser in an organizational meeting conducted by the new principal, Mr. Gilbor I. Camporazo before the formal opening of classes in June 2014.

Initially, Sir Mike did all the lay outing, the encoding and production of first issue of The Clarion. Through research and some tips and coaching, mentoring from the school principal, he successfully published a 6-page paper.

School Paper's Aims

The paper features some basic parts of a newspaper like news headlines, news bits, editorial, cartooning, feature writing, trivial page, pictorial folio, among others.

School paper aims to be the outlet of every pupil's writing talents and an avenue for a would-be journalist to develop his hidden skill on writing.

Writing like reading and arithmetic is the fundamental skill a pupil should have to acquire, develop and master in order for him to be considered as a fully educated individual. And The Clarion could serve as a springboard for such opportunity for the pupils to avail of.

As the paper's motto, "Reliable News, Responsible Views", The Clarion could fulfill that expectation which the school, the community and the family could be proud of. The frequency of the issue would be twice a month.

Hail The Clarion! Hail Balabag Elementary School!
