Teachers Day: Free Moment from Teaching Job

Sixteen teachers and a school principal of Balabag Elem. School of La Carlota Division took time out from their day-to-day teaching routine  to enjoy with their pupils doing some parlor games like paper dance, trip to Jerusalem in this year Teachers' Day.

ZUMBA DANCE

The officers of the school Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) conducted a special meeting after the school’s seminar on school-based management (SBM) on the revised assessment tool.

They decided unanimously to sponsor a  “Zumba Dance” so that they could gather enough donations to defray their expenses intended for the Teachers’ Day.

More than one hundred parents, pupils and teachers joined the afternoon energizing dance on September 4, 2014. They occupied the school quadrangle for the beginning of the activity.

Those who participated considered the activity enjoyable and more fun.

TEACHERS’ DAY PROGRAM

The pupils and their respective parents, guardians had a unique way of recognizing and honoring the teachers of Balabag Elementary School in a momentous teachers’ day celebration in which they severally and jointly planned it out.

A simple program was held on September 11, 2014 in the afternoon. The PTA officers managed the entire proceedings of the program which included the delivery of messages of the Supreme Pupils’ Government President and PTA School Federation President that inspired all the teachers, and every teacher was given by them an invaluable cards as a token of respect, honor and recognition of indefatigable efforts of the teachers in imparting quality education to the pupils.

SPG President Paul P. Atienza’s Words of Thanks:

“This day we are privileged to be given a chance to thank our teachers who stand as our second parents in which we get our inspiration to pursue our dreams through their untiring support of bringing out the best in us.

“Many times we just don’t mind and even seem we don’t care, but deep inside our hearts we thank God that He gave us teachers who are true, caring and unselfish of making us a better person and to reach our ambitions.

“Thank you. Happy Teachers Day and good afternoon!"

School PTA President Mary Jane R. Ramo’s Words of Gratefulness:

“Today, we are here to celebrate and give honor to our dear teachers.

“Teachers come in all shapes, sizes and specialties. Despite the demanding situations and long hours of work, teachers of today persevere and endure, recognizing the crucial role they play in molding the minds of the future generations.

“A teacher can be a coach, a mentor, a close friend, a second parent to our children. But all teachers have one thing in common – they nurture the light they see shining brightly in others and give all their best for their pupils and students without asking any return of their efforts.

“So, my dear parents, I encourage you to help and support our teachers, encourage our children to study, make their assignment, go to school every day, and join any activities of our school.

“And children, study well. Do you assignment. Avoid absences so that all the sacrifices of your teachers will be worth it.

“To all the teachers, Happy Teachers’ Day!”

The School Principal’s Message:

He simply recalled the very purpose or role of a teacher in an acronym of TEACHER:

“A person who:

Teaches the children on who to write, how to read, and how to do math and much more.

Explains things to children on how do they work, how do they operate, and how do they become useful for them and other people.

Analyzes situations especially difficult ones for the children to easily understand and be able to come up with the practical solutions.

Cares for the children as his/her own children; never neglecting them and making them learn and appreciate the value of being educated.

Helps the children especially those who are handicap by treating as a special beings, capable of doing normal things.

Encourages those children who are problematic, habitual absentees and truant to be optimistic in improving themselves academically.

Reports to school on time and never mixes work with play, and play with work, and also reports to the parents on the performance of their children, and to his/her principal about his/her performance.

That is a T. E. A. C. H. E. R. – a TEACHER.”
